Worship Leader

Worship is the place we find ourselves and find the true nature of our God. He wants us to live real lives portraying to the world that He loved us first.

We love worship! Not only through music and singing, Worship at MORE has a heritage of allowing the Holy Spirit to lead and for creativity to be expressed. We believe the Lord always has something to say so we want to sing it, play it, and express whatever it is because we know He is good. We are passionate about Love and sharing Him all people. As the person who chooses the music most weeks, I seek the Lord’s heart every time I build a set list and I love to see what He does.

Worship is fun, it is beautiful and it is reverent. God gave us music to create, to enjoy and to give back to Him. Corporate worship is a time we all become a unified body and show our gratitude and our love for our Creator. We believe the Spirit of the Lord brings freedom so we seek His presence, especially in our worship, to allow Him to do the work that is in us that only He can do.

Be yourself! God made you for something that only you are meant for. In our teachings, friendships, worship and our own lives we are going after authenticity and staying true to who God made us to be. In Worship we find peace and strength, and we get to stand in awe of The One who loves us.

BECOMING INVOLVED IN WORSHIP

Musically speaking, to be a part of our Worship Team at MORE we have no true system because we do everything through relationship. When I first came to MORE, I was told in order for me to sing on stage I had to meet people and build relationships not only with the band or worship leader but with the people around me. We stay true to that and believe it is important for people to know us and to be known by us. Come talk to Matt or I and we would love to meet with you, hear what you are interested in and play some music together. We don’t have try-outs, we believe in helping anyone grow in their talent. We all start somewhere.

We love writing and strive to write our own music. We do our best to sing original songs as often as we can. Here at MORE we produced our first collective album in our own recording studio, MajorSeven Studio, and released You’re Lifting Me Higher by A Church Called More in January 2016. Our CD is on iTunes and other listening venues. We continually pursue writing, co-writing, recording and releasing music into the speakers of those who want to hear.

We believe that God is love. God is also the author of music. I like to say that, as a result, every love song becomes a song of worship.  Just a little something to think about…At MORE we search for God’s Spirit, His touch or light in all kinds of music.  We love hymns, psalms, prophetic worship, songs of the 1890’s and 1990’s, gospel, rock ’n’ roll, funk, country, blues, stadium anthems and folk music. We open our services with songs by the likes of Josh Garrels, The Beatles, Gungor, Katy Perry, Stevie Wonder, Bob Dylan, The Black Keys, U2 and Tom Petty.  We do this because we believe that if we will just put our human judgements aside, God is perfectly capable of speaking to anyone through anyone and that in fact all of creation speaks of the wonders of Him.  This includes the night as well as the day, the storm as well as the calm, the pain as well as the joy…

Our worship sets consist of original songs and classic songs that many of us know, as well as new songs that are becoming well-known.  Sometimes we play two songs an sometimes it is five because our top priority is to facilitate communion between God and man through His gift of music.  So, sometimes it just doesn’t feel right to play every song just because we rehearsed it that way.  In other words, sometimes a particular song has an extra amount of weight to it and so we’ll stay with it instead of moving along so that we don’t miss out on what we feel the Spirit might be saying.

Recording Studio

MajorSeven Recording Studio is a ministry of MORE and has been for the last four years. Our mission is to be good stewards of the resource of studio space and equipment that we have by recording top notch music and doing so at a price that does not take advantage of our clients.  We believe that the ability to create music or anything for that matter, is given to us by God and that we honor Him and His love for the world by being a light in our city…especially with regards to the arts.  This means that whether or not they are part of our church, or any church, we do not shy away from recording those whose music reflects a heart that is sincere and seeking to create something beautiful.

MajorSeven Recording Studio is connected to and run by More and Matt Lemburg who is on staff full-time as More’s lead musician.  Matt has been running the studio for the last three years but his total time spent producing, recording and mixing along with playing in different types of bands goes back twenty five years.
