Matt and his wife Amber moved to Amarillo in 2008 after living in coastal California all of their lives. He and his brother Benjamin had met MORE's previous worship pastor, Kevin Prosch, in 2003 when they hired him to produce an album for their band StreetChoir. Over the next five years they would record a total of three albums with him and doing so brought them to Amarillo a number of times. Matt and Amber made a lot of friends here at the church and fell in love with its culture of grace and the warm, friendly nature of the people in this area. Matt has been playing guitar as well as other instruments for nearly thirty years and has been producing records for nearly as long. He is currently on staff as Lead Musician and also runs MajorSeven Recording Studio here at MORE. More about Worship...
Wendy grew up in Amarillo and has a love and appreciation for the Texas Panhandle's unique lifestyle. Wendy enjoyed being a stay-at-home mom for years, but several years ago she found her calling in overseeing the Healing and Prophetic Rooms at MORE. Tori was born and raised in Amarillo. She has attended MORE since it began in 1999. Tori's passion has always been teaching and caring for young children and helping them to grow into the people God created them to be. Tori has worked in the church nursery for 10 years and now as the Nursery Director it is her mission to teach the children about Jesus and the love He has for them all. She married Alex Flores in 2014 and both are involved in leading the youth and a community group together. Tori went to school at WTAMU earning her bachelor degree in Early Childhood Education. In November 2015 Alex and Tori had their first child, AJ. Read more about our nursery here.
Growing up in Dumas Texas, Alex attended and served at Bible Baptist and Grace Thru Faith Church. As a child he was saved and healed from a very serious disease by a miracle from God, which motivated him to devote his life to God at the age of 18. He moved to Amarillo in 2011, started volunteering for Acts Community and began attending MORE Church, serving as a leader in their youth group. During those next few years he worked every job that would allow him to pursue his passion, which is serving God and His people. Alex has also worked for Amarillo ISD, Amarillo College, and the Acts Community Thrift Store. He became the Director of Operations for Acts Community in February 2013, where he works full time at the Resource Center managing all operations and volunteers. He has served in many areas of ministry at MORE: Children's classes, worship media and community groups. In 2014 he became the youth pastor; together with his wife Tori, they lead the youth group as well as a community group called More Life. They have a son named AJ. P.S. This bio would be incomplete without mentioning of all the wonderful adults and children Alex gets to minister to at Camp Agape, a church camp for those with developmental disabilities. It holds a special place in his heart, and if he has a free moment in the summer, you will most likely find him there. Click here for more information about MORE Youth.
Becky Waldrip's passion for connection and friendship not only made her the perfect candidate for our women's ministry, but also for MORE'S welcome center. We desire for people to feel the love of God through us whether it's through a hot cup of coffee, a kind word, a smile or a hug. This ministry is an extension of the Core Values of MORE.
"Be kind and merciful. Let no one ever come to you without coming better and happier. Be the living expression of God's kindness to the poor. To the poor, to all who suffer and are lonely, give always a happy smile, give them your care, but also you heart." ~Mother Teresa~
Not only is Jennifer the one that keeps our building looking lovely, she also mentors and ministers in various areas at MORE. Her powerful gift for intercession and the prophetic makes her an invaluable member of the Sunday morning intercessory prayer room, the leader of her "MORE MOMS" group and on the altar ministry team. Jennifer and Robert have three beautiful children: Miriam, Liam and Asher.
The PREP program is a faith-based program at the Randall County Jail to help those incarcerated in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice system to adapt and get a head start on life outside of prison, upon their release from TDCJ. They are trained through various programs and classes and are assisted in obtaining proper paperwork, autos, jobs, etc. before they get out. We rely heavily on employers to hire them and mentors meet with them on a regular basis. Administrative Pastor Lyndal Waldrip and Steve are in charge of organizing this program and keep it running smoothly. If you want to help in any way with the PREP Program please Contact Us or Lyndal Waldrip at firstname.lastname@example.org or Stephen Cutberth at email@example.com.
Changing Our Community One Life at a Time
Based in the heart of San Jacinto, our center meets the needs of residents using tools such as food, hygiene items & baby supplies. Through relationship, we receive the opportunity to focus on deeper issues contributing to poverty in this neighborhood. MORE is proud to be a part of and support this community center. If you would like to know more about Acts Community please visit their website at www.actscommunity.org.
There are several avenues where Amber gets to use her creativity at MORE. Although she studied photography, creative writing and art in college, she learned graphic design while working as an assistant and designer for a local Amarillo photographer. She now uses those skills to help design and maintain MORE's website. You can also find her designs on the hallway bulletin boards and anywhere else the church wants some "flair." She has been a Pescatarian (that's a vegetarian who sometimes eats seafood!) for over 20 years and is passionate about healthy living. Getting to cook dinner for the kids and youth every Wednesday night is an opportunity for her to introduce them to healthier eating and a way for them to explore foods they might not otherwise try. In her spare time she likes to read, camp, write for her blog and travel. She has been blissfully married to her husband Matt for over 13 years. Their "child" is a husky named Bowie.
Trey graduated from WT with a focus in communications and broadcasting. He designed our website and keeps everything running smoothly in the "tech" department. Trey married our worship leader, Kathryn, a few years ago by proposing on a Sunday morning in front of the entire church!Save
